The well-crafted image has always been a central part of Russell Abraham's life, no matter what the tool used to create it. Russell started life with a paintbrush in his hand. He traded in that paintbrush for a T-square and finished a degree in Architecture before eventually swapping his T-square for a view camera. These days, the tool of choice is a digital camera and a high-powered desktop computer. He has taken the time to learn the new technologies and develop enough of a mastery of them to both teach and write about them. He is an active member of the local photo community and serves on the Board of Directors of ASMP. When not behind the camera or in front of the computer screen he is the proud father of four children, two of whom are recent graduates of the University of California.
Billie Cummings has had the photo bug for a long time, but it has only been recently that she has the opportunity to practice the
craft on a professional level. She started her career as a high school teacher in Southern California where she guided her students
to produce awarding wining yearbooks and newspapers. She also taught photography on the high school level for a number of years.
She works with Russell as both assistant and stylist bringing her good eye and exquisite taste on every shoot.
When not working with Russell, she is a mom and Girl Scout leader. She also shoots nature and travel photographs for stock.
John Montgomery has led a life of adventure that could fill up four lifetimes. He has been an Air Force pilot, a professional
folk singer, a broadcast TV producer and still photographer. Now in semi-retirement, he works with Russell on special assignments when he is not traveling the world with his lovely and distinguished wife. He is on the Board of Directors of ASMP and Bay Area Travel Writers. Having been in both the TV and photo business for over thirty years, he brings a deep knowledge of both lighting and composition to every shoot and usually leaves everyone in stitches of laughter.
